IPTV on Chromecast: Setup Guide
"Chromecast" now covers two different products with different IPTV setups: the classic casting-only dongle, and Chromecast with Google TV, which runs a full Android TV-based interface. Which one you have changes the setup entirely.

Classic Chromecast: Cast, Don't Install
The original Chromecast has no app store of its own — it only receives a cast signal from another device. To watch IPTV, install a player app that supports casting (several IPTV apps on Android and iOS include a cast button) on your phone or computer, then cast the stream to your TV.
Chromecast with Google TV: Install Directly
Chromecast with Google TV is a different product entirely — it runs a full Android TV-based OS with its own remote and Google Play Store. Install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate directly from the Play Store and enter your subscription details, exactly as you would on any Android TV device. See our Google TV setup guide for details.
Which One Do I Have?
If your Chromecast came with its own remote control, it's Chromecast with Google TV. If it's a small dongle with no remote, controlled entirely from your phone, it's the classic casting-only version.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
No — the classic Chromecast has no app store and can only display content cast from another device. Use a casting-capable player app on your phone instead.
Casting typically preserves the source stream's resolution, though playback depends on both your home Wi-Fi and the sending device's connection.
